How to use the appliances

Everything you need to keep Casa Salobreña running smoothly. If something behaves oddly, send Michelle a quick WhatsApp before troubleshooting so we can walk through it together.

Washing Machine

Spin speed 800 is gentle on delicates; 1000 for towels and bedding.

1 Separate clothes into light and dark loads. Use the laundry baskets in the utility space.
2 Add detergent to the left drawer. Fabric softener goes in the middle section if you use it.
3 Select the 40ºC Eco cycle for most loads or the 20ºC quick wash for small loads.
4 Press and hold Start until the light stops flashing. The door stays locked until the cycle ends.

Oven & Induction Hob

The hob auto-switches off after 2 hours. Wipe with the supplied glass cleaner after it cools.

1 Turn the oven selector to the icon you need (fan bake is the default).
2 Use the temperature dial to choose the heat. Pre-heats take about 8 minutes.
3 For the hob, tap the power symbol, then choose a ring and slide to the heat level you need.
4 Always place induction-compatible cookware on the ring before turning it on.

Air Conditioning & Heating

Please turn units off when you leave the house. Filters are cleaned monthly.

1 Use the white remote labeled 'Salon'. Point it toward the wall unit.
2 Press Mode to switch between Cool, Heat, and Dry. The display shows the current setting.
3 Keep the temperature between 22ºC and 25ºC for efficiency.
4 Close doors and windows before running to avoid condensation.

Dishwasher

Open the door after the beep to let dishes air-dry and save energy.

1 Scrape leftover food into the compost bin—no need to pre-rinse.
2 Load plates facing the center and angle bowls for best spray coverage.
3 Add one eco-tab in the detergent compartment and close the lid.
4 Select the Eco 50ºC program and press Start. Lights indicate remaining time.

Coffee Maker

There are spare filters and beans in the green tin beside the machine.

1 Fill the tank with filtered water up to the Max line.
2 Add ground coffee to the reusable basket (2 tablespoons per cup).
3 Select Brew and let the cycle finish before removing the carafe.
4 Rinse the basket and carafe after each use to keep flavors fresh.

Outdoor Kitchen & Grill

Keep the outdoor fridge under 5ºC—dial 3 is the sweet spot.

1 Lift the cover completely so heat doesn’t damage it.
2 Turn the gas knob slowly and press Ignite. Hold for 5 seconds until the flame is steady.
3 Use the grill brush after preheating to clean the grates.
4 Close the gas valve and brush the grates again once cool.
